Issyk-Kul

A teacher in the Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan is awarded for her work improving children's books. This video was funded in part by USAID as part of the "Okuu Keremet!" project.

Footage and translation for this project was provided by Okuu Keremet. I was responsible for assembling the footage based on a script, adding music and sound effects, color correction, captions, and final delivery.

I really enjoyed editing this video and, coincidentally, this project was also one where I oversaw a junior editor's work. The footage was somewhat challenging to color correct since it was shot on a prosumer-level camera using a lower quality codec. Adding captions was also difficult because I don't understand the language and the translation didn't feel like it was lining up well.
